UPDATE: May 5,2009 - Roxanne had a female twin of herself! With her dad Escalade's gorgeous fiber!
UPDATE: April 2008 - Roxanne is at NW Alpacas again being bred to Escalade, who is a son of White Gold and has Presidente, Augusto and Dracula in his background. She has lost no condition over the winter, so with a little extra TLC, we expect no difficulties with this pregnancy.
UPDATE: October 2007 - Roxanne is confirmed pregant for an August 2008 cria from Providence.
UPDATE: June 2007 - Roxanne is off at Northwest Alpacas being bred. She was shorn this year, but I didn't get around to taking new pics before she headed to Oregon.
Once again, I had to make that tough decision of which one of the males there to breed her too. I was thinking of continuing to diversify my herd and breed her to a new male, but when we sheared on June 9th, I was so impressed by the fiber on her 2006 cria, Andy, that I knew immediately that I had to take her back to Providence. Andy's fiber is very bright, has good crimp, and is extremely soft. Of course I would like a female, but would be more than happy with a male.
Roxanne is a big, brownish red, production female. She has had two extremely nice male crias for me. She is a female that a good male will easily improve upon, as is evident by her 2005 and 2006 crias. |
